Show Gunnison Student Gets Medics Diploma Ray Erikson of this city, was among the 558 University of Utah students to receive degrees and diplomas di-plomas at the 65th annual commencement, commence-ment, held in Kingsbury hall June 5th. The presentation of degrees and diplomas was made by Dr. Clarence Snow, chairman of the board of regents. re-gents. Mr. Erikson was a candidate for the two-year medical certificate, and was awarded a B. A. degree. President George Thomas' brief report re-port showed that there were granted 429 bachelor's (A. B. and B. S.), M bachelor of laws, 51 master's, and 2 honorary degrees, and 177 various teaching diplomas and certificates. Both degrees and diplomas were conferred con-ferred on 117 students. The report showed a residence enrollment en-rollment of 3391 for the year 1933-31. This number, combined with the 1933 summer school enrollment of 585 and the 2577 students doing extension and correspondence work, makes a total enrollment of 6,553 students for the year. The freshman class, with 1,079 students enrolled, was one of the largest larg-est first year classes ever to attend the university. There were 204- graduate gra-duate and 129 unmatriculatcd .students .stu-dents in attendance. |
