Show May Return Robber For Trial In County George Dwyer, alias. Geo. J. "Denver "Den-ver Dick" Palmer, who has confessed complicity in the Gunnison Valley bank robbery January 3, 1929, and after his arrest made his escape from the county jail, may yet be returned to Sanpete county for prosecution. Palmer, as the man now gives hr name, was arrested in Denver recsnt-ly, recsnt-ly, charged with holdups and robberies, robber-ies, and from reports the cases will be hard to prove. Salt Lake officers asked requisition papers, which were granted, and Palmer is to face a charge of being a factor in the robbery rob-bery of the Medical Arts building at Salt Lake, when a score of doctors offices were broken into, safes cracked and some $36,000 in securities and about $4,000 worth of radium was stolen. A nation-wide search was instituted institut-ed after the Sat Lake job, and Palmer, Pal-mer, with others, was finally arrested as the perpetrator. An inmate of the state prison has implicated Palmer in the Salt Lake robbery and it has been claimed that the accused made a confession in Denver. Nov, however, Palmer has taken a change and claims he can prove an alibi and that he was not in Salt Lake at the time the Medical Arts building was robbed. However, he has made a further confession con-fession that he was one of tWi three that robbed the Gunnison Valley bank a little more than a year igo. He has admitted that he broke thbj lock on he jail at Manti, and walked away. |
