Show Local Bof Scouts Man City Affairs Gunnison's municipality will be absolutely ab-solutely in charge of the local boy scouts of this city all day next Saturday. Sat-urday. The several officers will be administered the oath at nine o'clock, appointments of heads of the various departments will follow and the scouts . will reign supreme until six o'clock Saturday evening. At an election held Tuesday evening, eve-ning, the following officers were elected elect-ed to guide the destinies of the city for the day: Mayor, Glen Pritchett; 4-year coucilman, Rulon Petty; 2-year councilmen, Claire Munk, Darrell Gates, Boyd Nielson and Leonard Johnson; Justice of the Peace, Wood-row Wood-row Mortensen; marshal, Dean Nielson; Niel-son; city attorney, McEwan Voor-hees; Voor-hees; recorder, Lee Franklin Gledhill; city physician, Don Jensen. Mayor Pritchett, with the sanction of the city council members, has al-' al-' ready announced the appointive officers,- and the following will be seen in service: Traffic cops, Ray Taylor, Stanley Voorhees and Merrill Nelson. Ralph Beauregard will act as build-4 build-4 ing inspector and members of the fire department will comprise Marlin Hyatt, Hy-att, Thomas Yardley, Newell Soren-son, Soren-son, Cyril Foote and Birdell Yardley. It is intimated that the activities of the "traffic cops" will be paramount, para-mount, and autoists are given fair warning that all rules will be strictly enforced. Just a little more enforcement enforce-ment will be noticeable Saturday than on ord:nary days. The '"cops" are posted on the rules and they will be empowered to make arrests in the regular way, hail the violators before the courts of justice and assess regular regu-lar fines, which must be paid or the violators will be subject to a jail ssn-tence. ssn-tence. Get back of the boy scouts and aid them in the training. Be obedient and boost them in every movement because be-cause the boys of today are the big business men of tomorrow. |
