Show i LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Malmsten, who are wintering at San Diego, Calif., spent the major portion of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Whittenburg. At the week-end, the coast visitors left for Richfield. Miss Irene Allmendinger of the Wasatch academy, accompanied by her friend, Miss Vera Davis, also a student at the academy at Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, were week-end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Allmendinger. Allmen-dinger. , Marius and August Simmonsen, brothers to the late Niels Simmonsen, were here from Salt Lake Saturday. The brothers, it is announced, are planning to contest the will of Niels Simmonsen, declaring there were irregularities. ir-regularities. W. Harvey Ross, head of the Gunnison Gun-nison Sugar company, came down from Salt Lake Monday. He spent several days at the offices at Spearmint Spear-mint conferring with the office forces. Chris. Thompson spent several days this week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Herbert at Salina. Elmer Hasemyer was the guest at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Ross Lund, over the week-end. Elmer is a student stu-dent at Wasatch academy. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jensen, operators opera-tors of Bert's super service at Cen-terfield, Cen-terfield, have returned from a tour of coast cities, after being absent for two weeks. They motored to Los Angeles, An-geles, later going to San Diego, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beck. They visited several points in Mexico and returning went up the coast to San Francisco and Sacramento. Sacra-mento. Mr. and Mrs. Freeland Jensen of Stockton, Calif., are here for an indefinite in-definite stay. They arrived Sunday in answer to a message announcing the serious illness of Mrs. Antone Jensen, mother to Freeland. Mrs. June Metcalf delightfully entertained en-tertained for fifteen members of the Wide Awake Bridge club, and one guest, Saturday afternoon, at a bridge party. In the contest for honors, hon-ors, Mrs. A. M. Peterson won first, while second prize was won by Mrs. Ray B. Metcalf. At four-thirty, the hostess served a dainty luncheon. tt Miss Dorta Gledhill, a business college col-lege student at Salt Lake, was summoned sum-moned home at the passing of her aunt, Mrs. C. A. Folster. Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Hagan entertained enter-tained for a group of friends at a 7 o'clock turkey dinner Saturday evening. eve-ning. Covers were laid for sixteen at small tables, and each table carried a cluster of pink carnations. In the bridge contest by the women, honors were won by Mrs. C. M. Edwards and Mrs. Edd. Jensen. The gentlemen diverted di-verted their time at solo. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Olsen were made happy over the birth of a fine baby girl February 7, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Myrup of Gunnison.
