Smarting under a defeat administered adminis-tered the Bulldogs by Manti a week previous, and determined to retrieve the laurels lost, Coach Alexander's fighting quint snatched a big victory on the local court Friday night, when the boys bested Moroni by a score of 53 to 40. Notwithstanding the fact that Moroni has recently been v rengtlu ncd by Bailey and Larson, 'tar basketball players, the boys I'rom the north failed to find a win-liing win-liing spot and went to a sad defeat. (Continued on last page) Bulldogs Score Victory, 53-40 (Continued from page 1) Sensing the importance of winning the Friday evening's engagement to again fly into a tie with Manti, the Bulldogs began snaring baskets at the start and ended the half with 33, while the opponents had but 22. In the third quarter the Bulldogs "la-zied" "la-zied" the play and ended that time with only six points to their credit. In the final, however, the locals waded wad-ed in and rounded out 14 points. Nielson, right forward, with a total score of 11; Beck, left forward, tallying tally-ing 17, and Pritchett, center, with a iotal of 12 points, did the job that put the fear into the crack Moroni team. Bailey, right forward for Moroni, Mor-oni, scored 18 points, while Larson, right guard, the latter's playmate, scored an even dozen. These two lads were really the only threats of the Moroni bunch.
