Show ' ! LOCAL ITEMS I OF INTEREST j Twelve members of the Gunnison Bridge club were delightfully enter-1 tained by Mrs. N. L. Hennansen at the latter's home Friday afternoon of last week. At 1:30 a delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served, following which a lively game of bridge was enjoyed. Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. F. H. Jones were prize winners. The hostess host-ess was assisted by her daughter, Miss Phyllis Hermansen. Mrs. Ilyrum Christiansen, superintendent superin-tendent of the Gunnison Ward primary, pri-mary, returned home Monday evening from Salt Lake. Mrs. Christiansen attended at-tended the four-day session of the M. I. A. held at the capital city and she reports the meetings the most successful suc-cessful and were well attended by church representatives from all parts of the state. r- Miss Lucile Green is here from Salt Lake and will be the house guest of Miss Phyllis Hermansen for a week or ten days. Miss Betty Villard and Antone Villard, Vil-lard, students at Occidental college, Los Angeles, during the past winter, are here and will spend the summer vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Villard. Mrs. Villard and Mrs. Waldo Villard met Antone at Nephi Thursday, and Miss Betty Villard came in Saturday, after visiting visit-ing for a few days at San Francisco. Miss Betty was among a class of 175 receiving honors at the graduation exercises of the college, and she was awarded a bachelor cf arts diploma. Mr. and Mrs. Don E. Pence and sons, Robert and Leon, came in from their home at Los Angeles Saturday. They expect ' to remain indefinitely visiting with Mrs. Lyda B. Duggins, mother to Mrs. Pence. Mr. and Mrs. Ebbe Jessen of Man-ti, Man-ti, and Mrs. Gail Brook and son, Wayne, of Salt Lake, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Childs Monday and Tuesday. The party was enroute to Fishlake on a fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. Marsden Gribble, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Jepson and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Childs and children, enjoyed enjoy-ed an outing; in Twelve Mile canyon Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lovell Childs and their children, came in from McGill, Nev., last Saturday and have been enjoying a -visit with relatives and friends. They left this, Thursday, morning for their home. Mrs. W. L. Mclntyre, who spent a week visiting with relatives and friends at Twin Falls, Idaho, returned return-ed to her home in Gunnison Friday. She was accompanied by her aunt, Mrs. H. N. Fry, who will be here for two weeks or more, and Miss Harriet Schad. Miss Schad returned north Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Crane of Salina, were guests at the George Swain home Tuesday evening. Mrs. Peter Frands'en of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, is at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Lafe Frandsen at Clarion for an indefinite visit. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Talck and Mrs. M. M. Duggins spent the week-end at Salt Lake visiting with friends and relatives. |
