Gunnison, 3; Nephi, 18. Salina, 8; Elsinore, 2. Sunday's Schedule. Gunnison at Salina. Nephi at Ephraim. Failure to pull together at critical points, and with the Gunner's pitching pitch-ing staff out of form, plenty of errors, er-rors, countered with a batting fever on the part of Nephi, the Gunnison ball team took a bad defeat at the Nephi diamond Sunday afternoon. Erickson, on the mound for Gunnison, allowed 17 hits, all of which were for long rides. The Gunner hitters were Halverson, Kump, Last, Erickson and Modeen. Kump and Halverson each hit for a three-bagger, while the other four were for singles only. The final score was 3 to 18 in favor of Nephi. Reese, pitching the nine innings for Nephi, showed splendid form and in his performance allowed the six hits, which were scattered. Nephi was "on" in fine shape, in batting, running and staging doubles, while the Gun-nersi Gun-nersi were "off," said a local, fan, and the fast playing by the opposition could not be checked. The Gunnison team, however, taking tak-ing the Sunday defeat, still holds third position in league standing. Next Sunday, the Gunnison boys will trek to Salina for a bout with the Salts, undefeated thus far in the first half of the schedule. June 28, Ephraim comes to Gunnison and Nephi Ne-phi will play at Elsinore, the two games ending the first half of the schedule. Sunday's box score: GUNNISON. B. H. O. A. Stubbs, 2b 4 0 11 A.
