Show Gunnison Plans Big Celebration " Gunnison will celebrate Independence Indepen-dence day! Put this fact on your date book and don't forget that when Gunnison Gun-nison stapes a holiday, it does it up in first-class order. A big tin:e is being be-ing planned for the natal day and while nothing definite has been announced an-nounced in the line of a program, it has been indicated that there will be fuh, joy and amusement for women and girls, boys and men, of all ages, of all creeds and colors. No line will be drawn and the city invites you to come and be a guest all day long. Races, patriotic programs, sports, baseball and "what have you" will be some of the features of entertainment. entertain-ment. . " A strong committee to make plans for the entertainment of the visitors was named at the regular meeting of the city , council, and comprises J. E. Metcalf, general chairman. Assisting Mr. Metcalf will be Leo D. Bardsley, N. L. Hermansen, I. L. Henrie, Milton, Mil-ton, Perkins, Mrs. Leslie Kidman, Mrs. Charlotte Villard, Mrs. Rupert, Bouvang and Sirs. Claud Michaelson. With this committee, all well known in civic and church activities, something some-thing unusual will be looked for. As a starter to finance the festivities festivi-ties the city council has appropriated $.40... This, it is understood, will be used principally for prize money in the aces, which will be arranged for the children.
