I Lions Convention I Important Event i j On June 22-23 there will gather : in Pocatello, Ida., representatives i from the 63 Lions clubs in the 23th I district of Lions International, com-I com-I prising the states of Utah and Idaho. The International president of Lion:;, Earl V. Hodges, of New York City, will represent the association at the convention. J. M. Knighton, president of the Gunnison Lions club, V. H. Whittenburg, Ira Ovorfelt and (if). Last have been named as delegates i i and alternates to attend the ronven- tion. i J. Morris Godfrey, district guvor-I guvor-I nor of the 28th Lions district, will preside at the convention. Indications are that the Lions convention con-vention at Pocatello will be the largest larg-est convention ever held by service ' clubs of Utah and Idaho, for the j Lions during the past year havo growl in strength until at the present pres-ent time thoy have C,:, clubs in the district more than twice the number of other service clubs fonibined. The International Association f Lions has had a corresponding : growth. For the past three and .ne-1 .ne-1 half years there has been organized i better than one Lions club a day In the United States and Canad;. Lions now have 2500 clubs with an approximate approxi-mate membership of 100,000 Lions. District conventions are being held through the 41 Lion districts pr'or to j the International convention, which is j to lie held in Toronto on July ! 1-1", : so that the agenda of the International Internation-al convention may be discussec' and I district policies formed. The convention at Pocatello will I elect a district governor for the n,',i-ing n,',i-ing year, and will make final ar;-;:r laments la-ments for attending the International convention in Toronto as a unit. |
