Show Hay Costs Are Cut by Use of Windrow Method Field crops specialists of the Minnesota Min-nesota experiment station have prepared pre-pared a bulletin on "Hay Making in Minnesota," containing suggestions of use to the farmer as the haying season sea-son draws near. This bulletin says that the curing of hay in windrows reduces curing costs. To make the proper kind of windrow, wind-row, however, is important, and for this the specialists advise the use of the side-delivery rake with curved teeth. This rake makes a windrow which hastens the curing process with little loss of leaves and little blenching. blench-ing. The hay is not raked until the leaves are wilted after cutting. |
