Mrs. Effie Mellor Jensen a native of Fayette and widely known in church and social circles, Fayette, , Gunnison and Manti citizens, bowed their heads in sorrow at the untime-. untime-. ' ly calling of the young woman so ' widely and universally loved. Mrs. 1 Jensen succi'mbed Saturday, follow- ing an operation at a Salt Lake hos-! hos-! pital. Her health had been impair-jed impair-jed and in the hopes of regaining her health she submitted to an operation. opera-tion. Mrs. Jensen was born at Fayette, March 28, 1890, and was the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mellor, pioneer residents of Sanpete county. coun-ty. She attended the public schools at Fayette and was an exceptionally bright student. After completing the lower grades she attended the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young - University, where she achieved high honors, and served as vice president of the student body. Mrs. Jensen was an ardent church worker, being active in the auxiliary auxil-iary organizations. Following her marriage to Dr. Ernell Jensen, the well known dentist, den-tist, the family moved to Canada, remaining re-maining there about three years. On their return from the dominion, Dr. and Mrs. Jensen resided at Ephraim Eph-raim for a while, later removing to Salt Lake. Besides the husband, Mrs. Jensen is survived by a son, Robert Lee, and three daughters, Aliene, Louise and Effie; her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John C. Mellor of Manti; seven brothers, Dr. John O. Mellor : of Idaho Falls, Roy D., Archie M., I Wells, Lester D., Leslie Lee and ! Stanley, all of Manti, and three sisters, Mrs. Laura Mellor Jensen i and Mrs. Lily M. Metcalf, both of j Gunnison, and Mrs. Zada Rudeen of : Los Angeles, Calif. I Funeral services were held for j Mrs. Jensen from the Center ward . chapel at Manti, Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock. Bishop C. O. Stott was in charge. Addresses were made by eminent churchmen from Provo, Redmond and Manti. Beautiful Beauti-ful floral offerings made by friends and relatives bespoke the love and esteem held for the one who had been called. Some seventy-five relatives and friends from Gunnison were at the j services Mrs. Emily Knighton took I part in the last sad rites, rendering ! a beautiful solo. |
