Show Holstein Club Win Laurels at Fair Achievement day for the Gunnison ciubs, held at the high .school' last week, gave added interest in the" industry in-dustry to the boys who are members of the clubs.. Dr.. ' Knudsen of the Snow College, and C. 0. Stott, comity comi-ty agent, were here and aided , the boys materially. And, too, many, of the parents and the high school faculty, fac-ulty, together with some of the business busi-ness men, added to the throngs. Eight of the heifers recently imported im-ported from Washington,, and twelve lambs, teams, individual.' horses; a hog and a Jersey cow comprised" the stock exhibit. The Holstein heifers exhibited at the high school by Uhlan Swalberg and Leland Foote carried off the honors at the exhibition at tYfi high school with high credit. j'Not only this, but at the county fair at Manti bath animals walked away with blue ribbons. Dr. Knudsen, following the judging judg-ing of the stock, gave the members of the club an interesting talk along the line of care and feeding. He impressed im-pressed the importance of thoroughbred thorough-bred stock on the farms throughout the valley and if built up to the high standard as it should be, the results would be wonderful, and that Gunnison Gunn-ison Valley, with the ideal climatic conditions, the abundance of feed and real interest in the work, would soon rank with the best in the state as a producer of dairy products and fat bank accounts. |
