Show CENTERFIELD NEWS ITEMS I - The 'farewell party given in honoi of Miss Lavona Beck last weel proved a huge success, both from r social and financial standpoint. A purse of $130 was presented to the departing missionary and in addition an enjoyable time was had by ali present. Miss Beck left for Salt Lake Monday and after a short visit ;here she will go to the southern states where she has been appointee a missionary for the Mormon church She was accompanied north by Mr and Mrs. W. A. Fjeldsted. Misses Airvilla Fjeldsted, Lazell! Beck and Alda Larson have gone tc Provo, where they will atend the B. Y. U. during the coming schoo year. Merrill Woolsey, who has been here for a visit, has returned to his work at Salt Lake. Mrs. S. S. Bartn was a traveler to Ogden Tuesday, where she will join her husband, who is teaching near the railroad city. L. J. Bowker of Salt Lake, spent the week here, a guest at the Chris Sorenson home. Mrs. G. W. Funk has returned to Salt Lake after a brief visit here. Neldon Hansen of Fairvicw was an over-Sunday visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Lund. Jesse E. Bardsley motored to Salt Lake yesterday, where he met his daughter, Miss Leona Bardsley. Miss Bardsley has been absent during the past summer visiting at various points on the coast. Mr. and Mrs. Oswell Beck spent several days at Salt Lake this week, combining business with pleasure. Enroute home they spent a day at Provo. Louis LeRoy of Price is here visiting visit-ing with Mrs. LeRoy, a guest at the home of S. P. Joxiscn. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Stowc and Mrs. S. T. Tossell and son of Price, spent Saturday and Sunday here with Mrs. Christensrn. Mrs. Tossell and son will remain in Ccnferfield during the winter. Miss Edna Anderson came homo from Salt Lake Sunday. She opened her school at Axtell Monday morning. |
