The California Molasses ' company is the name of the corpora-I corpora-I tion which has been incorporated under un-der the laws of Arizona to succeed the Los Angeles Molasses Feed company com-pany of Delta, which constructed a plant here last winter, but which has been closed for several months. Following Fol-lowing the stating of his reasons by Mr. Keller, requesting such action, the judge declared that the cases be dropped and the bondsmen released. Salt Lake City. Purchases of new automobiles in Utah during August totaled 1240, according to the monthly new car sales report of the Automotive Automo-tive Trades Publishing company, announced an-nounced by Carl L. Snow, manager. During the month 132 new trucks were sold. Nearly one-half of the new car sales were made in Salt Lake county, as shown by the 535 sales made in Salt Lake County. Ogden. A. L. Christensen, agricultural agricul-tural agent in Tooele county for seven sev-en years, will be transferred to Weber We-ber county to succeed County Agent, W. P. Thomas, according to announ cement made by Director of Exten sion William Peterson of the Utah Agricultural college at Logan. The new county agent will begin his duties du-ties here October 1. Ogden. The first mayorality candidate candi-date to be entered in the race in Ogden Og-den is George E. Browning, former postmaster and prominent business man. Mr. Browning1 was waited upon up-on by a large group of citizens, chiefly chief-ly business men, who asked him to enter the race for . mayor and pledged pledg-ed him support. Mr. Browning consented con-sented to their request and entered the race, it was announced following the conference. Salt Lake City. As a result of the rigid system of economy inaugurated by the city commission, city expenditures expendi-tures for August were $43,600 less than they were during the corresponding correspond-ing month of 1924, according to the monthly report of the city auditor. Murray. Stringent measures to curb speeders and in other ways to enforce observance of the traffic rules are being put into effect by the Murray City authorities, especially especial-ly on the state highway as it passes through the city. A threshing machine belonging to the Thompson brothers of Mt. Pleasant was completely demolished de-molished by spontaneous combustion, caused while threshing smutty wheat at Indianola. Two hundred bushels of wheat belonging to Peter Simpson . was also destroyed. James Thompson who was operating the machine, had left it just a few minutes before the explosion and no one was injured. Salt Lake City. Carlos Ariza, for several years consul of the Mexican republic in Salt Lake, notified Governor Gov-ernor George H. Dern that he has been relieved of his duties here, and has been ordered to assume a simi lar post at Calexico, California. Mr. Ariza, in his letter, also told the governor that his successor, Carlos M. Gaxiola, has arrived in this city and will assume charge of the local Mexican consulate immediately. Ogden. The park commission of Ogden has recommended to the city commissioners that an offer of $40,-, $40,-, 000 cash be tendered to Sanford Har ' rup and Chris Aadneson for the sanitarium san-itarium property at the mouth of Ogden Og-den canyon, according to Mayor P. F. ' Kirkendall. It is expected that the city commission will do this soon. Ogden. Nikola Milojeonic, a transient tran-sient and believed to be a Slav, lost both of his legs and is In serious condition con-dition at the Dee hospital following an accident on a freight train in the Ogden railway yards. Milojoenic is 37 years of age and told hospital attaches at-taches that his folks all lived in Europe. Eur-ope. Milopoenic was riding in a coal car loaded with steel rails when the accident occurred. He was standing at one end of the car while the freight train was switching in the local yardf when a hard jolt threw the ralli against his body. |
