Show Michael Jensen and Andrew Ander-1 sen, two of Gunnison's war veterans,' left for Provo yesterday. They will j spend the week there and enjoy the . time visiting with comrades who meet j at the Grand State Campfire. Before : returning, Mr. Jensen will go to Salt Lake for a visit to relatives. Miss Benneth Roper was the delightful de-lightful tiny hostess at a birthday an-I niversary party last Saturday afternoon after-noon from two to five o'clock. Ben- neth reached her sixth birthday and ' she invited thirty of her friends to be i her guests. Lunt of the state road commission, and Hal S. Kerr, assist-1 ant chief engineer, were in tiic city Saturday making an inspection of the federal project being built through South Sanpete. After a brief stay they continued their journey south. Mr. and Mrs. Juiius Duggins motored mo-tored to Provo Saturday, returning Sunday. On their return they were accompanied by their daughter, Miss Theresa Duggins, who spent three weeks visiting with relatives at the Garden City. r 3fi LOCAL ITEMS OF j INTEREST. ! John Olyroyd, state land commissioner, commis-sioner, was here Saturday and Sunday Sun-day on a combined business and pleasure pleas-ure trip. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Clements went to Salt Lake Monday of this week. They will be absent until the first of the coming week enjoying a vacation. Mrs. C. W. Perkins left for Provo last Saturday. She will be absent ten days or two weeks visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Per-Jcins. Per-Jcins. Mrs. Axel Myrberg, who has been the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Peterson for the past three weeks, returned re-turned to her home at American Fork last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Peterson and Mrs. J. B. Roper returned from Salt Lake yesterday They motored to the city Sunday and have been combining business with pleasure Mr. and Mrs. James Metcalf of Salt Lake, and who were just returning Max Halverson reached his sixth birthday anniversary Tuesday and he and a number of his friends celebrated cele-brated the event by staging a party during the afternoon. The boy and girl friends enjoyed the time with Master Max and in addition to games and a good time, Mrs. Halverson served light refreshments. i W. Harvey Ross, president of the I Gunnison Sugar company returned j home yesterday after spending a week here inspecting the big factory and beet fields. He expressed himself him-self as being highly pleased with the fall prospects. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Andrews of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beck of American Fork, who were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck at Centerfield, returned north Tuesday evening. While here the visitors, accompanied by Alec Beck and family, enjoyed a brief outing out-ing at Fish Lake. |
