Show Airplane Passes High Over Valley Some said that it was a party looking look-ing for "mountain likker makers," others said it was a bunch on a campaign cam-paign tour for state officers, some ventured the theory that it was the "round the world flyers," while some declared that it was Chester Gump, being rushed to San Francisco to catch a boat headed lor Australia. At any rate it was a real-to-goodness airpflane and it was headed south when it passed over Gunnison about one thirty yesterday afternoon. The machine was well up in the air and nothing could be seen to distinguish whether is was of the mail service or an ordinary passenger airplane. However How-ever Gunnison citzens, or a portion of them at least, witnessed the passing of the machine high in the air. Strong field glasses were brought into use and nothing could be told by markings whether it was manned by revenue officers looking for stills or not. In as much as the airplane continued con-tinued its southern course and made no landing in the vicinity of Gunnison, shows evidence that the eighteenth amendment is being observed. And nothing could be seen in the way of Wattis or Mabey signs and it is taken for granted that the air boat was on a trip to Los Angeles or some southern south-ern port. |
