Show Duroc Hog Expert Judge Utah Stock Coming to Utah with an enviable nationwide reputation, Ira T. Jackson, Treasurer of The American Duroc Jersey Swine Breeders' Association with headquarters in Chicago, has accepted ac-cepted the invitation of the Utah) State Fair manager, Wm. D. Sutton, to act as judge of swine at this year's exposition. Mr. Jackson, who hails from Ohio, will come here direct from the Montana Mon-tana State Fair where he will act as superintendent of his department. He comes with the reputation of being ranking hog judge of 1923. During recent years he has judged at the National Show Duroc, Hamps and Poland Chinas. He accepted the in-.vitation in-.vitation of the Utah and Montana Fairs only because he had long wanted to take a trip across thepraries into the Rocky Mountain territory. Mr. Sutton, Utah's fair manager, reports that entries for all classes in the livestock department are extremely ex-tremely heavy for this time of the year. He also adds that the offering of free amusements will be greater and more varied this year than ever before and that whether people come to Salt Lake for education or pleasure pleas-ure they will find plenty there to satisfy sat-isfy them. |
