Show Farmers Urged To Kill White Top H. J. Webb, "state crop pests inspector, in-spector, has returned from Sanpete and Sevier counties, where he took up with the county commissioners the protest recently filed by Millard Mil-lard county officials and property owners against the presence of white top along the Sevier river, from which Sevier, Sanpete and Millard county farms are watered, says the Tribune. The state official believes that the solution to the problem presented by the prevalence of white top in Sevier lies in the appointment of a district agricultural inspector for Sanpete and Sevier counties. With cooperation coopera-tion of the land owners, under proper prop-er supervision, much more successful success-ful work can be done, the inspector believes, in the eradication of such pests than would be possible under a display of the powers given by the state law for officials to eradicate the pests at the owners' expense. Mr. Webb reported that the com-issioners com-issioners appeared disposed to a friendly consideration of the proposition proposi-tion for district inspection, which carries a with it a mill', to go to the state agricultural inspection fund. However, the county officials desired to advise with farm bureau leaders on the matter before rendering a final decision. |
