Show Local News Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Kidman spent last Sunday at Mt. Pleasant visiting with friends and relatives. Miss Dura Thorpe of Axtell, was visiting with relatives and friends at Ephraim the fore part of this week. Misses Tursell Childs and Lulu Hal-verson, Hal-verson, were among the conference visitors at Ephraim last Saturday and Sunday. Bishop E. L. Swalberg and Jacob Bastian attended the conference of the L. D. S. church at Ephraim last Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday. P. 0. Perry of Salt Lake City, spent several days in the valley this week. Mr. Perrv is interested in the future possibilities of Gunnison Valley and he may later become interested in the agricultural sections. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Gledhill have returned re-turned from a motor trip through the northern part of the state. They visited visit-ed in Logan, Brigham City, Salt Lake and other cities. They were absent about a week. Howard Norman, who has been employed em-ployed in the drainage district during the past winter, left for Layton last Sunday morning. Howard will be employed em-ployed with the Baer Construction company com-pany in a big drainage campaign in the northern section. Dr. G.Q. Christensen and family have arrived from Manti, and are occupying rooms at the Ferre home. They will make Gunnison their future home. Dr. Christensen has opened offices in the Coop, building and will practice both in meaicine anu surgery. Mrs. J. H. Roylance left for Salt Lake the fore part of the week expecting to be absent several days. While at the capitol city Mrs. Roylance will consult a specialist in the hopes of gaining relief re-lief from a malady that has been giving her mnch trouble. Dr. J. A. Hagan and Mrs. Hagan, were motor passengers to Salt Lake last Monday morning. Dr. Hagan spent several days conferring with Salt Lake surgeons in connection with operations oper-ations that may be necessary for both Mrs. Roylance and Miss Christy Madsen. Roland Malmsten, former manager for the J. C. Penney company in Gunnison, Gunni-son, but now in charge of the company store at Marysvale, was here last Saturday Sat-urday for a short time shaking hands with old-time friends. Mr. Malmsten was just returning from Salt Lake where he had been attending a convention conven-tion cf the western managers for the Penney stores. |
