Show CANE VERSUS BEET SUGAR Despite the testimony of technical experts of the highest authority and despite 'the practical tests afforded by the daily experiences of millions of users, the belief that there is a distinguishable difference between sugar from beet3 and that extracted from cane dies hard. Perhaps nothing illustrates the fallacy of the oft-repeated discussions discus-sions as to the relative merits of cane and beet sugar more conclusivel than the fact that the same charge, and complaints that are lodged against beet sugar on one side of the Atlantic are charged up to cane su gar on the other side. Readiness t. suspect the stranger or the unfa miliar product--apparently is an old and deenlv ineraiiip.fi' trait of human nature. Chemical tests prove that there is absolutely no difference between the same quality of beet or cane sugar. In fact British candy makers demand beet sugar. With a general understanding of this fact, one of the arguments against the use of beet sugar is removed re-moved and this great western agricultural agri-cultural and manufacturing industry faces the future with a brighter prospect than ever before. |
