Show County Bankers Hold Session C. C. Edmonds, cashier, and Wil-j Wil-j liam Metcalf, president of the Cun-jnison Cun-jnison City National bank, attended the meeting of the Sanpete County 'Bankers' association held at Fountain Foun-tain Green last Friday and both gentlemen gen-tlemen are highly elated over the success of the meeting. Every city having a bank in Sanpete county, excepting Centcrfield, was represented. repre-sented. The attendance was large and the proceedings highly interesting. interest-ing. The session opened in the morning morn-ing and at that time round-table talks and several stirring addresses were made. Matters touching upon banking in the county in particular, and the country in general, were discussed dis-cussed and several addresses made. Seth Pixton, state bank examiner, was present as a special guest of the association. Mr. Pixton gave an eloquent address and his talk was along general banking lines and policies pol-icies to pursue for the betterment of the country banks. One of the matters taken up at the business session was the half holiday for Saturday. It was voted to close the county banks at noon on each Saturday ' thus allowing employes em-ployes to enjoy more recreation. The hours during the week were not changed. Following adjournment at one o'clock the visiting bankers were royally entertained at a banquet as the guests of the Bank of Fountain Green. While the business session and the addresses given during the day were highly interesting, it is said that they did not compare with the elaborate spread tendered the visiting bankers. A banquet table was laden with oceans of delicacies and the wants of the hungry visitors visit-ors were looked after by the fair ladies la-dies who had the affair in charge. Mr. Edmonds, in behalf of Gunnison, Gunni-son, extended the invitation for the association to be the guests of Gunnison Gun-nison at the next meeting. This- matter mat-ter has been left to the committee on arrangements and it is more than likely that the financiers will be here when the next regular session is held. |
