Show ; Gunnison Baby Is Winner In Contest j The contest was spirited, and fifty beautiful baby boys and girls were entered from Axtell, Centerfield, Gunnison, Sterling, Manli, Ephraim, Wales, and Mount Tleasant, and was under the supervision of Miss Sarah Tooth, school nurse for the county. Drs. G. Q. Christensen of Gunnison, A. J. Nielson of Ephraim and G. L. j Sears and H. C. Stranquist of Manti constituted the examining board, and the decisions "were difficult to make for the reason that all-the babies entered en-tered were "winners," and those not credited with winning were given high praise. The list of winners, shown in the respective groups, were as follows: Best boy under G months Raynor Seeley, Mt. Pleasant, first prize, score 98.6; Leland Deyring, Manti, second sec-ond prize, score 98. Best girl under ' 6 months Betty Hansen', Ephraim, first, score 99; Elaine Stubbs, Gunnison, second, score 98.8. Best boy over 6 months and under 1 year Vernon Burton, Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, first, score 97.7; James A. Hanson, Han-son, Sterling, second, score 98.4. Best girl over 6 months and under 1 year Rita May Voorhees, Chris-tenburg, Chris-tenburg, first, score 98; Vileda Swen-son, Swen-son, Sterling, second, score 97. Best boy between 1 and 3 years Lynn Tatton, Manti, first, score 98; Lysle Woodhouse, Manti, second, score 87.2. Best girl between i and 3 years Mary Peterson, Manti, first, score 98; Betty Voorhees, Manti, second, score 97.2. Best boy between 3 and 5 years I Harold Johnson, Manti, first, score S8; Jesse Ottosen, Manti, second, secore 9 7. Best girl between 3 and 5 years Hazel Christensen, Centerfield, first, i score 99; Barbara Clark, Manti, second, sec-ond, siore 97. The awards of prizes were made at the exposition building last Friday evening, and the winners with the proud parents were present. . |
