OCR Text	Show POACHERS ARE BUSY, REPORT. Reports from the lakes and sloughs in the vicinity of Axtell and Redmond are ot the effect that "poachers" are at work slaughtering the ducks that habitate these places by the hundreds. For the benefit of those not familiar with the laws it is well to know that the season for duck shooting does not open until the first day of October, and those violating the provision are subject to a fine. A close watch will be kept on the "hogs" that are infringing and the first one apprehended will be given a chance to explan.
