Show mm n school Site Ti to OO In Favor of Hie 1 verso 11 Comer. Unusual interest was shown in the Second Ward (25th district) school election Friday. One hundred hun-dred and forty one votes were cast in all; 72 for the Iverson corner and 69 for the Nelson place. Consequently Con-sequently it was decided, by a majority ma-jority of only three, to ereel the proposed pro-posed school building on the Iver son corner. This is the third time a majority has decided in favor of this site. Judging from the stand taken by the majority of the trustees, trus-tees, unless they have already gone too far to chango their plans, we believe it is wholly unnecessary for us to caution them against falling fall-ing into the error of putting too much money in the proposed school house on the Iverson corner. Of course a $3,000 or $4,000 building build-ing would be a fine thing to look at, in fact a luxury; but under the circumstances, with the $25,01)0 central school building in sight, only a $1,500 or $2,000 primary school building is needed in the wards. This ward cannot now stand more than that; more than that would prove an extravagant mistake. |
