Show mm mm laid For the Meeting House In The First Ward. The corner stones of the proposed propos-ed handsome brick meeting house for the First Ward were laid Thursday Thurs-day afternoon. There were at least 200 people present. The services began at 2 o'clock by the choir singing. Prayer by Counsellor P. Fosgren. Appropriate speeches were made by Bishop Henry Tingey. J. D. Peters, A. H. Snow, Jonah Mathias, Kudger Clawson and Charles Kelly. Pres. Clawson laid the southeast corner stone and stood upon it and ottered the dedicatory dedi-catory prayer. The other cornet-stones cornet-stones were laid as follows: northwest north-west corner, by Counsellor Kelly; southwest corner, by Bishop Tingey; northeast corner, by Chairman Peters' of the building committee. The building will cost some $-1,-500. The masons will begin active work next Monday, when the building build-ing will lie vigorously pushed through to completion. It is . thought that the roof will be on by fall. |
