Show HAPPENINGS AND WHEREABOUTS. Mrs. A. E. Hutchinson and Miss Hutchinson have gone to Los Angeles. Mrs. Arthur C. Wherry entertained at a tea on Friday. Mrs. Charles L. Sampson has gone to San Antonio, where Lieutenant Sampson Is stationed at present. An interesting announcement which came from Los Angeles during the week, was that of the engagement of Miss Rowena M. Newton to Robert Leverett Leonard, formerly of this city. Mr. and Mrs-. J. J. Daly returned from California Cal-ifornia early in April. Mr. and Mrs. George F. Busch announce the engagement of their daughter, Marian, to Leo P. J Frost. The wedding will take place in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Burton 'have returned from California. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Houston and. the Misses Houston will spend the greater part of the summer sum-mer in Europe. The annual election of the Hospital Aid society so-ciety will be held in May. The nominating committee com-mittee consists of Mrs. Stimpson, Mrs. E". V. Silver Sil-ver and Mrs. William C. Jennings. Mrs. Elmer B. Jones entertained informally on Thursday for Miss Gilchrist. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Caine will leave for Los Angeles today. Mrs. William M. McCrea was the hostess at an informal event Thursday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John E. Clark have re urned and are at home with the F. J. Fabians. Mrs. Willis TJline and her children have gone to Fort Leavenworth where they will visit the J parents of Mrs. TJline. Mrs. J. C. Hanchett entertained the members of the Utopia club on. Thursday. Miss Marie Bancroft and Miss Kate Williams are now in Italy and will tour the continent during dur-ing the summer. In honor of Mrs. Charles Wilkes, Mrs. W. II. Cunningham entertained a number of friends at a prettil yappointed affair at her home on Wednesday. Wednes-day. Mrs. MiPon E. Lipman was the hostess at a bridge party at her home on Wednesday. Mrs. L. C. Miller will leave for the east next week, and later Mr. and Mrs. Miller will sail for Europe. Later they will be joined by a party of friends and will spend the summer abroad with them. Miss Dorothy Marioneaux gave an informal supper on Sunday evening. |
