Show International Aviation I Carnival I Saltair April 5 th to 10th I ONE OF THE SUCCESSFUL FLIGHTS AT THE SAN FRANCISCO CARNIVAL H The big amusement feature for Conference Confer-ence week will be the International Aviation Avia-tion Carnival to be held April 5th to 10th, inclusive, at Saltair Beach. Approximately Approximate-ly $30,000 is being expended to bring the areoplane show to Salt Lake and to make the venture a success. This meet will be official and a representative repre-sentative of the International Aeronautical Society will be on hand to see that the meet is conducted in the proper manner. The records made by the birdmen in the carnival will be recognized by every aeronautical aero-nautical society in the world. Practically the entire aviation show that attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to San Francisco a short time ago will be brought to Salt Lake for tiie International Inter-national meet. I The world's most famous aviators will be entered ir. the various aerial contests, which, in a great measure, will determine H the standing of the Wright and Curtiss men M and machines and the choice of a team H to represent America at the big aviation H meet to be held in London this spiing. H The birdmen who will appear n Salt" M Lake are Walter Brookins and Phillip O. Parmalee of the Wright camp, and Glenn M Curtis, Eugene E'ly and Charles F. Wil- M lard of the Curtiss team, and possibly Rad- M ley, the English aviator, with his mono- M plane. H Throughout the meet, competitive flying M between the Wright and Curtiss birdmen H will be featured. The big card will be M the race ovev a twelve-mile aerial course M between a Wiight and Curtiss aviator. This H will be the first race of the kind in which M representatives of the two rival aviation M concerns have been pitted against each K other for gold and honor. 9 |
