Show Americorps Vista Keepis Volunteers Busy Currently operating the AmeriCorpsVista program at Garfield County Resource and Volunteer Center in Tropic are Lori Mecham and Marsha Holland. In their second year over the program, the two operate out of the old library building portable at Bryce Valley Elementary School. AmeriCorps Vista offers resource material on parenting and other social services and provides a small library for the Bryce Valley Summer Reading ' Program run by volunteers Pat Shakespeare, Vicki Syrett, and Helen Willis. Holland says that AmericorpsVista has slowly expanded to countywide programs, pro-grams, mainly the Garfield County Summer Reading Program. They are currently working on various grants that help Garfield County's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) through Citizen Corps and the Corporation for National and Continuity Service. They have also been active with all the Bantam sports programs pro-grams in all the communities setting up leagues and coordinating coordi-nating 'Schedules for baseball and basketball, etc.,-a busy program pro-gram ft)F Which Logan Eagarhas recently taken responsibility. "We are always researching economic development models that will help diversify our tourist based economy," said Marsha Holland. "Our mission is to address community needs, help develop programs and then hand it over to volunteers once the program is established.
