Show CAMIONMIG iffl'JS By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Sunday was a special day in Cannonville LDS Ward. The , infant son of Caroline Hadley, who is a daughter of Nick and Nellie Hadley, was blessed by ' his great-grandfather, George W. Thompson and given the name ' of William Joseph. Also McKay Thompson was advanced in the Aaronic Priesthood to the office of a Priest. He was ordained by his father, Joe Thompson. Family members present for the occasion were Nick, Nellie, Caroline, Nickolas, Jr. and Tasha Hadley; Robert and Jordan Hadley all from Salt Lake City. Arnell and Iris Burr had their son, Dirk Burr, his wife, Marcy and children Jordan, Riley, Kayle and Courtlynn Burr of Mesa, Ariz, here to visit them for the weekend. Anita Fletcher and daughter, Erica Racker went to Mesa, Ariz, to visit family members Jon and Stephanie Scott. The Scotts have an adopted son and now are in the process of adopting adopt-ing another baby boy. They came home Sunday and on Monday, Alma Fletcher, wife, Anita and Michael Fletcher went to Marysvale to attend the funeral service for Ladona Christensen. Don Mangum's son, Melvin Mangum took him to the service and he returned home with Alma and Anita. Others who attended the service from here were Larry and Glenna Fletcher; Matthew and Cathy and Ryan Fletcher; Richard and Diane Fletcher; John and Ramona Morreale; Jacob and Charlene Moss. Ladona was the eldest daughter of the late Aerial and Mandy Fletcher. Mae Twitchell and daughter, Arjean went to St. George and spent Saturday night visiting with Cherlynn Twitchell. They went to see "Guys and Dolls" at Tuachan. George and Ada Thompson went to Las Vegas, Nev. for medical appointments. Beverly drove their car since neither of them feel comfortable fighting traffic there. J Ralph and Chrystal Clarke spent two days visiting their parents, par-ents, Jim and Erma Clarke. They toured Bryce Canyon, then went over on Boulder mountain to camp. They had their family with them. Saturday, Jim and Erma took grandsons, Daniel and Jacob Barney to Salt Lake City to meet their dad, Lee Barney. They all went to scout camp for a week and then will go to their home in Rexburg, i Ida. The Clarkes received word from their youngest son, Patrick that he will be working in administration at Southern Utah University. On the 24th of July the Clarkes were involved in an automobile accident on Cedar mountain, when the car traveling travel-ing in ' front of them slowed down. They all slowed but a car right behind them didn't and crashed into them, damaging the rear of their car. Luckily no one was hurt. Bonnie Willis attended a welcome wel-come home for her granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, Bonnies Willis in Orem on July 17.' She served an LDS mission in Sweden. Last week, Bonnie attended the wedding of another granddaughter, Anna Marie Willis, who married Jonathen Hawl in the Mt. (See CANNONVILLE on pg. 3) Timpanogos LDS Temple. A luncheon was served after the ceremony and a reception was held that evening. Both of these granddaughters are daughters of Cornell and Kathy Willis and the late Terry Ann Willis. Bonnie also said that her health seems to be improving, which makes us all very happy. Golden and Roxanna Johnson enjoyed a visit Monday and Tuesday with their daughters, T. J. Bettars of Mesquite, Nev. and Susan Bell from California. Roxanna has been quite ill but said she is feeling better. The girls took care of her and cleaned her house which she really appreciated. |
