Show .' Jim Dodds Dodds Celebrates 80th Birthday PANGUITCH James M. Dodds and his family celebrated his 80th birthday on Apr. 9, 2000. Jim was born in Panguitch in 1920 to James William and Hannah Mae Excell Dodds. He married Vera E. Norman on July 4, 1954 in Fredonia, Ariz. She passed away Aug. 15, 1996. They were the parents of two children: Dave (Cindy) Dodds and Bud (Julie) Dodds, all of Panguitch. Jim now has eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp in England, France and Germany during World War II. He has worked as a successful farmer all of his adult life. He raised pigs for a number of years, and at one time had one of the largest pig farms in southern Utah. For years, he did a lot of custom work, cutting hay and thrashing grain for people in the valley. He has also been a sheep and cattle rancher and still helps run the farming operation to this day with the help of his two sons. |
