"Community Impact Funds benefit rural communities impacted by mineral extraction. This is one of the primary sources of funding for rural Utah. Therefore, it is a privilege to drive through the state and see all the good things that have been accomplished from St. George to Moab to Vernal," said Kerry Bate, director, Utah Division of Community Development. The Community Impact Board is a program of the Division of (See FUNDS on page 3-A) FUNDS From Front Page Community Development. It helps state and local agencies and entities that are, or may be, directly or indirectly indi-rectly impacted by mineral resource development on nearby federal lands. The board provides assistance assis-tance through grants and low-interest low-interest loans for the planning, construction, con-struction, and maintenance of public pub-lic facilities; and the assistance also helps community service provide public services. |
