Show Tropic K:v;s- By Lynn Munson 679-8627 In the Tropic sacrament meeting, meet-ing, Bryce Syrett was released as Young Men's secretary. Sustained in new ward positions were Aaron Bybee, Young Men's secretary; Robin Chynoweth, Wolf Cub Scout leader; Lonnie Pollock, Varsity and Venture Scout leader; and Kathryn Pollock, Primary assistant chorister. On Sunday, Elder Cody Brink-erhoff Brink-erhoff reported on his mission to Belo Horizanto, Brazil. His parents, par-ents, Ferrel and Gwen Brinkerhoff, also spoke. There were 96 members mem-bers of the Jackson and Brinkerhoff families there to welcome and support Elder Cody and all 96 had dinner together later in the afternoon. af-ternoon. Pete and Keela Mangum were in Phoenix for some needed R & R (Resting and Racing). They stayed four days and returned earlier than planned to miss the expected storm that hit everywhere but Tropic. Last weekend, Kerry and JoNeil Alvey took their sons Ryan and Josh above Pine Lake looking for enough snow to go tubing. Ryan got a snowboard for Christmas but had been unable to use it and finally got to try it out. Sara Littlefield was able to spend a night in her home again last weekend. Son Steve was with her and she got to visit with friends and neighbors before returning to the care center. Everyone was saddened to learn of the death of Lewis Haas on Friday. We send our love and condolences con-dolences to the family. Father and son Berdell and Brant Barton spent several days in New Orleans attending meetings for South Central telephone company. While Berdell was away, wife Carma went to Vernal for four days to be with her sister Janet LeFevre who is recuperating from recent surgery. Florence Sudweek and Minnie Nielson attended a luncheon party hosted by their friend Edna Clarke of Paneuitch. Seven members of the Family Home Evening group met at the Pizza Place for an evening of good food and good conversation. Hostesses Hos-tesses were Ella Bybee and Ida Harmon. Gloria Hayden and Anna Marie Johnson spent three nights in Cedar City with sisters Janet LeFevre and Connie Kleese. They had medical appointments and some fun-shopping fun-shopping to do before returning home. It was great to welcome Ella Adair home again. She arrived Thursday and was soon busy calling friends to catch up on the news. Ella had some wonderful news to report. She is the proud great-grandmother great-grandmother of two new greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Carrie and 'Kip Ferris of Cedar City recently had a baby boy. Carrie's parents are Gail and Bonnie Miles. Larry Adair's daughter and son-in-law Montyne and Martin Anderson, also of Cedar City, had a baby girl on Valentine's Day. She was named Alexi and has four brothers who welcomed her home. Dixie and Chad Shakespear and Shirley Haycock spent a day in Kanab on business and visiting friends. Later that evening Dixie welcomed Leon and Eulla Parkinson Par-kinson of Roy for a weekend visit. Spending President's day weekend week-end in Phoenix were Tawn and Cami Morgan and children and Shawn and Crystal Mortensen and boys. One of the best activities was taking the children to watch the camel races. |
