Show Panguitch Lions Roar Into 2000 By Earl Roe The last year of the 20th Century was a good year for the Panguitch Lions Club. Several new members were added and have been a big help with our successful fund raising events. Our Community Birthday Calendar continues to be our leading money-maker and along with our early morning breakfasts, have allowed us to contribute over $4000 to various worthy causes including several student groups. Our aluminum can project is also quite successful and brings in enough to pay for our Lions Club Scholarship. We appreciate the support we get from the community commun-ity in supplying the cans and say orchids to those who toss them in our can bins and double orchids to those who take the time to crush them. (Onions to those who toss in their trash!) The Panguitch Lions Club meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Flying M Cafe and we ask anyone who is interested in becoming a member of to join us on a meeting night or contact any member of the club. We especially invite younger members of our community (both husband and wife) to become members some of us are running out of energy. Our Leo Club is still functioning func-tioning and we would really like to see more of our young citizens join the club and become more involved in community activities. |
