Show April Johnson TROPIC Five pretty girls will compete at Bryce Valley High School's annual 1997 Homecoming Queen Pageant tonight at the auditorium audi-torium in Tropic at 7 p.m. They will vie for queen as they compete in four categories: interview, inter-view, talent, formal wear, and decorated deco-rated cakes. Interviews will be conducted prior to the competition in which Triessa Ramsay the girls will be asked and rated on a series of questions. The talent and formal wear competitions will be held the night of the pageant for the public to watch and will be judged by three judges chosen from out of the area. The girls were also required to bake a cake from scratch in the home economics room at the high school. Judging of those entries Cherlynn Twitchell took place on Wednesaay evening. The cakes will be auctioned off at the competition and the money will be used to cover the cost of the pageant. Competing this year are: April Johnson, daughter of Moyle and Tracy Johnson of Tropic. She is a senior and will be tap dancing for her talent; Junior, Triessa Ramsay, daugh- Arianne Barton tef of Martin and Carla Ramsay of Tropic, will be playing a piano solo and junior Arianne Barton, daughter of Brant and Shanna Barton of Tropic, will be dancing. Senior, Holly Rich will be performing per-forming a clog routine for her talent. tal-ent. She is a daughter of Martin and Ethel Rich of Bryce. Cherlynn Twitchell, daughter of Holly rucn Five Pretty Girls Vie For Bryce Valley High School Homecoming Queen Arjean Twitchell of Cannonville, will be performing a reading. She is a junior this year. Emcees of the competition will be last year's homecoming queen Tina Foster and BVHS teacher David Pollock. Tina Foster will perform a piano pi-ano solo and the Bryce Canyon Cloggers will be performing a routine rou-tine in between competitions. |
