Show Bobcat Boys, Girls Pick Up Wins While Escalante Moquis Tip Bryce Valley By John Yardley Ryan Cottam poured in 29 points as the Escalante Moquis edged past Bryce Valley 60-54 at Escalante. The Moquis held a slight edge most of the game as the teams battled within three points in each quarter. Escalante just refused to lose as they picked up their second sec-ond win in league play. Piute has moved to forefront in recent games. Scoring for the Lady Mustangs were Amy Johnson and Sarah Johnson with 6 points and Katrina Muir and Sheena Clark with 5 each. Both Johnson girls also made 10 points in the JV game, along with Clark's 9 and Sheila Mathew's 8 points. The girls will play their last game against Wayne in Tropic this week. The Escalante girls poured on the power, beating Milford last Thursday 47-30. For this young team, it was an exciting win, with both sophomore Kandy Kelly and freshman Sarah Rollins scoring 12 points. The girls will play Piute at home for their last game before the state tournament. |
