Show Hatch News By Mayall Sawyer 735-4207 Shelley Burrows and Shirley Wilhelm took Maggie Burrows to Salt Lake City for her yearly checkup. The doctor said that she is very healthy. We are so happy that Maggie is well. She says that we "could never survive without her". Sharon Sawyer is recuperating at home after having surgery on both hands. Clifton Rives of Las Vegas, Nev. is here visiting Ann Rives and enjoying the fall colors and cool weather. Visiting Estella Riggs for a few days are John and Lois Riggs of Layton, Les and Ilene Foote of Salt Lake City and Denard and Donna Riggs of Salt Lake. The town of Hatch held a Centennial Dinner with pit barbecue barbe-cue beef and all the trimmings. There was a program, visiting and a drawing. Adell Riggs won a lovely blanket, Joey Camp a carved candle and Rick Sawyer a commemorative pin. We (the town of Hatch) would like to thank all who donated food, a special thanks to Bob Evans and Merrill burrows for "pitting" the beef. Dennis and Barbara Dalton of Las Vegas visited LaMar and Dorothy Barney. Shauna and Shilo Hatch of Panguitch visited Shirley Wilhelm last week. Austin and Marie Barnhurst and Cassie Mack went down the Bun-Trail Bun-Trail and on to Capitol Reef where they enjoyed the scenery and picked apples. Austin and Marie have gone to Las Vegas for a few days. Nancy Warren has returned to Las Vegas for the winter. Lynn Evans is home after spending spend-ing a few days in the hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery. The D.U.P. of the Hatch Camp was held at the home of Vonee Roundy. The Lesson was given by Ruth Wilson and a lovely pot luck lunch was enjoyed, there were ten ladies present and we would like to invite any who are interested to come join us. Darol and Beth Allred, Ada Nordell, May Sawyer and Ileta Dix enjoyed a lovely fall drive to Cove Fort on Wednesday. We should all be glad to be alive and able to live in this beautiful lan. The fall colors are so bright. We should also be grateful for the rain that we just received. We may have setbacks and disappointments, dis-appointments, especially with the "land grab". Let's all take notice, check and be sure to vote and get people in office who are able and willing to fight for Utah. Let's not take this stab in the back lying down; let's get up and show that we care and will do something about it. |
