Show mm liiKrV Tara ExceLTs Grand Champion lamb brought a happy smile at the Annual Southwest Jr. Livestock Show in Cedar City. Her lamb was purchased by Jay Webb Livestock of St. George. Tara also took first place in overall competition. Her parents are Greg and Jane Excell. Jeremy Perkins' steer was named Grand Champion at the recent Cedar City Southwest Annual Junior Livestock Show. Jeremy's parents are Danny and Michelle Perkins of Panguitch. Panguitch Supply purchased his steer. Panguitch FFA Students Win Big At Southwest Utah Jr. Livestock Show PANGUITCH Several Panguitch Pan-guitch High School Future Farmers of America again distinguished themselves in September competition competi-tion at the annual Southwest Utah Junior Livestock Show held in Cedar City. Tara Excell captured the Grand Champion Lamb category; her entry was purchased by Jay Webb Livestock of St. George. Jeremy Perkins took the Grand Champion Steer win. His entry was purchased by Panguitch Supply. In overall competition, Tara Ex-cell Ex-cell took first place, McKenzie Christensen took third place, Camille Christensen took fourth place, Jason Excell ninth and Heather Excell took 10th. With 200 lambs in competition, Jamie Dodds and Zach Decker came away with blue ribbons for their lambs. In sheep showmanship, Jason Excell placed third in the junior division; di-vision; Jamie Dodds placed second in the intermediate division and Zach Decker placed third in the senior-division. Heather Excell also took a blue ribbon for her steer entry. Jason Excell, Casey Christensen and McKenzie Christesen all had blue ribbons for their hog entries. In hog showmanship, Casey Christensen placed first in the junior ju-nior division where Jason Excell placed second. Jamie Dodds also won the FFA individual judging award. The students expressed their appreciation to teachers, advisors, parents and businesses for support received throughout the year. |
