Show Tired of Smokescreens I just saw one of Bill Orton's TV ads. Since I worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for a long time, I found the ad very interesting. interest-ing. Orton claims in the ad that he isn't politicalhe's independent. May I please point out that it is because be-cause he is so political the he tries to appear so independent. Almost everything Orton does is political. He's one of the most political politicians I've ever seen! That's why he's always in the middle. He knows he lives in a conservative district so he tries to act like a conservative. con-servative. But, he's a Democrat so he can't really go with the Republicans or he'll bring the wrath of the Democratic Party down on himself. It's all a game-calculated to get himself re-elected and he has played it for years. That's why he can't get any bills passed. Nobody in Washington trusts or respects a Member of Congress who "wishy-washys" "wishy-washys" around all the time hold ing to the rear on every issue until he can tell which way the wind, is blowing. That's our congressman, Bill Orton. Orton has been pretending to be a Republican for years. If you look at one of his campaign signs you'll see that you couldn't find the word "Democrat" on one of them if you examined it with a microscope. In reality, Orton is a Clinton team member voting with Bill Clinton 70 of the time this year. Bill Orton's TY. ads art whiny and pathetic. I'mlired orirrloke'- screens and excuses. The voters of this district deserve a real conservativenot conserva-tivenot a pretend one. I urge the voters of Utah to put a stop to this charade and elect Chris Cannon this year. We certainly couldn't do any worse than Orton and I know we'll do a whole lot better. M.J. Ford 935 N. Grand Ave. Provo, UT 84604 |
