Show L1 ) Lady Cats Take Three Games In Cage Play By JohnW. Yardlcy The Panguitch High Lady Cats ran off a string of three straight victories last week defeating Kanab 47-39, Parowan 52-30, and Valley in a close one 40-37. Coaches Ann Reynolds and Heidi Henrie have their girls playing excellent basketball right now. The game with Kanab was rather close most of the way before the Lady Cats pulled away at the end. Misty Miller and Suzette Holman hit 14 points each while Collet te Simkins scored 10 and her sister Suzette six 'o lead the scoring. In the JV game with 'he Cow Girls Marnie Miller scored 13; Cherish Tebbs and Shannon Allen eight and Nanette Nay six as the Panguitch girls won 45-21. A' Parowan last Friday, both Panguitch varsity and JV's played well and won easily. Collet te Simkins swished 12 points followed closely by Sharlene Crosby who came through with a great game, scoring. 11. Suzette Holman and Misty Miller hit for eight each. For 'he JV's freshie Shannon Allen was ho' with 18 big ones followed by Tammi Henrie and Cherish Tebbs with 10 each. The freshman class at PHS is very talented. Saturday's game with Valley was the true test of the young season. Bo'h games were close. The varsity ended 40-37 in a nail biter, which was a follow-up to the 34-32 win by the Junior Varsity. Both games were well-played by Valley and Panguitch. When things got critical, 'he Lady Cats came through. Suzete Holman had a career high 18 points to lead the win with Misty Miller and Suzette Simkins each scoring eight. For the JV's Shannon Allen had another fine game with 14 and Nanette Covington scored seven. The varsity now has a glossy 3-1 record while the JV's sport a perfect 4-0. The next home game for the girls is Dec. 3 against Enterprise. |
