' ' . r ' ' ' ' "'(',. , '. ; f ' I T i Charter members of Project Teamwork at Panguitch High School include (Back) Bart Reynolds (advisor), Judd Partridge (president), (presi-dent), Trudi Yardley (secretary), Chad Veater, Randy Klein, Jana Black, Tram pas Gilbert, Anessa Hulet and Maria Gilbert, prevention PANGUITCH Students at Panguitch High School who are a part of Project Teamwork will sponsor football star Ty Detmer in a fund raiser in April to help them attend a three-day conference at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. The youth are part of group that meets bi-monthly to discuss antidrug anti-drug topics and healthy lifestyles. The students, 22 in number at PHS, began meeting with Maria Gilbert, prevention outreach specialist working for Southwest Utah Mental Health which sponsors the group. Gilbert is charged with the responsibility of introducing the Project Teamwork program into local area schools. Currently, groups are operating at Escalante and Panguitch high schools with plans in place for starting a similar group at Bryce Valley High School. Advisor at PHS is Bart Reynolds. The PHS students are aiming to outreach specialist for Southwest Utah Mental Health.; (middle) Sherrie Bulkley, Bert Prince, Bradley Cole, Seth Jackson (vice president), and Crystal Gilbert; (front) Wendy Woolsey, Jessica Torgerson, Becky Riggs, Katrina Bagnell and Amber Miller. Project Teamwork Gets Underway; Ty DetmerWill Head Fund Raiser attend the 9th Annual Parent and Youth Skills Conference, scheduled for April 22-24. The three-day conference includes keynote speakers, workshops, an afternoon activity at Lagoon, T-shirts T-shirts and a dance. Limited financial scholarships are available. Guest speakers and entertainers at the Salt Lake City conference will include a musician, educator, humorist, ventriloquist, dancer, snowboard team member and a Utah Jazz basketball player. On April 16-17, Project Teamwork Team-work members at PHS will sponsor spon-sor Detmer to quarterback in a flag football game of the high school students against the local businessmen. busi-nessmen. Detmer will also speak on the Friday night prior to the game, both to the youth at Escalante and Panguitch High Schools. He will be joined at the podium by his wife, Kim. The students will also raffle off a football signed by Detmer to help in additional fund raising. |
