Show Garkane Candidates For Board Of Directors Selected By Committees Garkane Power Association members living in Districts 3, 6 and 9 will vote to fill three positions on the company's board of directors. On March 1 and 2, nominating committees met and selected candidates candi-dates for the three districts. Candidates selected in District 3, which represents portions of Wayne County, are Michael Blackburn, Allen Al-len Jones, and Wayne Smith (incumbent). (in-cumbent). The District 6 nominating committee, representing Garkane's customers in Western Garfield County, selected Dorian Johnson and Dean Wintch to contend for the director position. In Garkane's new District 9, Neal Adair, Bill Loman and Eddie Pinjuv were nominated. District 9 was created by a by-Laws amendment amend-ment in 1992 to provide representation representa-tion for consumers in the Cedar Mountain area. Garkane Power Association, as a non-profit rural electric cooperative, coopera-tive, is owned by its member-consumers. The. cooperative's board of directors is elected by the member- ship, with directors serving staggered, stag-gered, three-year terms. Nominating Nominat-ing commit-tees, made up of cooperative coop-erative mem-bers, select candidates for board positions. Additional candidates can be added to the ballot bal-lot through the petition process. In early April, Garkane members mem-bers living in Districts, 3, 6 and 9 will receive ballots in the mail. Election results will be tabulated at Garkane's Annual Meeting sessions to be held in Tropic on April 28 and in Bicknell on April 29. |
