Show By Jeanne Harshman 335-7348 We certainly have had plenty of rain here in our valley and we are all very thankful for it. However, the past few days the sun has been shining and the warmth of it on the ground is such that our gardens are stretching up and growing faster than ever. Lenora LeFevre reports from Salt Gulch that two inches of rain fell one day and nearly wiped out her garden. The rain and the hail with it was quite severe but she is glad some of her garden did survive. sur-vive. A happy note for her was that Mac and Lenora's son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Wendy LeFevre have been here visiting with them along with Wendy's brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Valerie Drummer and daughter Samantha. The LeFevres have journeyed all the way from England. Eng-land. It was their first visit with them in 10 years. Everyone really had a great time. Lenora LeFevre gave the lesson at LDS Relief Society work meeting meet-ing last week. The lesson was about being prepared with job skills in case it became necessary to get into the work force from homcmak-ing. homcmak-ing. The Young Womens Association Associa-tion was invited to watch and learn how to decorate cakes for special occasions. Julee Lyman did an outstanding out-standing demonstration decorating a wedding cake and showing fun ways of decorating cupcakes. Who knows, this could be a good job skill to work in a bakery or to be a caterer for parties and gatherings of all kinds. The Bob Cochrans want everyone every-one to know they're doing fine and are now doing business from their own ranch and have cabins going up to accommodate their ranch guests who come to go on trail rides. We all wish them well in their continued endeavors. Tourist business is doing great and all the businesses report a busy time. Hunters are now coming into the area with the opening of the deer season with the bow and arrow hunt. We wish them well and hope they will exercise caution and care in the use of their weapons while in our area. The fire department is getting things organized and the meetings have been very informative and the volunteers have really cared about supporting all the efforts. Their efforts are appreciated. School has started and our children chil-dren are preparing for a great school year with lots of activities and learning experiences. Teacher Sue Bassett is looking forward to a year of new and rewarding experiences exper-iences for everyone. |
