Vivian and Evelyn Roundy, Salt Lake City, were unable to attend due to Evct . lyn's health, but were visited by everyone ev-eryone on their way home. Twenty members of Sons of the Utah Pioneers enjoyed several days of camping out up at Jacob's Valley and did not get too wet. President Jed Smith says a "garden vegetable cookout" is scheduled for September Septem-ber and, if they catch any, a "fish fry" in October. Their meetings are held the third Thursday of the month and everyone is welcome. Contact Jed Smith at 826-4867 for further information. The Escalante Action Team for Economic Development presented its "1992 Strategic Action Plan" to the city council and interested citizens citi-zens at the last meeting. Forest ranger Kevin Schulkowski explained ex-plained the origin of the Action Team in the 1990 Farm Bill and its successful attempts to procure funding for research into several areas of economic revitalization for the town and Garfield County. Copies of the "Action Plan" are available at the Forest Service office. of-fice. The next Action Team meeting meet-ing will be held at the new government gov-ernment Tri-Agency Building at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. The public is welcome. |
