Show S;;:::!::::s:::::ss::ii:? il A I The Bryce Valley High School Brycettes captured four superior ratings in the March 1 competition for Region 12 Two Garfield County high i school drill teams will be among those competing next week in Provo for state honors. At the March 1 Region 12 drill team competition held at Beaver High School in Beaver, Bryce Valley's Val-ley's Brycettes rated four superiors in dance, military, prop and novelty and Panguitch's Bobettes rated superiors su-periors in military, prop and novelty nov-elty and an excellent in dance. ! Escalante High School's Mo- quettes, competing for the first time in region competition, captured cap-tured three excellents in military, prop and novelty. Teams from Beaver, Enterprise, Gunnison, Kanab, Milford, North Sevier, Parowan, Piute, Valley and Wayne high schools also competed. Members of the Brycettes include in-clude Sheral Sawyer, Rachel Thompson, Stephanie Clark, Cheryl Thompson, Shantel Rich, Mindy Sandburg, Sherrie Mecham, Amber Brinkerhoff, Shauna drill teams held at Beaver High School. The team competed in dance, military, prop and novelty and will head for state. PHS Drill Team To Compete At State Mecham, Sheila Syrett, Shana Shakespear, Cherrie Pollock, Teresa Anderson, Terra Chynoweth, Gaylynn Shakespear, Barbie Fullmer, Kristine Pollock, Carly Roberts, Rebecca Bales, Cherrie Syrett and Sarah Williams. Members of the Bobettes include in-clude Marnie Miller, Andrea Giul-lette, Giul-lette, Candace Swanger, Camille Tcbbs, Hollie Thomas, Celeste Brown, Cherish Tebbs, April Dix, Kami Frandsen, Sheree Nowcrs, Laresa McKee, Tracy Clark and Candie Orton. The Moquettes include Darcy Osborn, Jenny Spencer, Holly Shelby, Michelle Spackman, Kim-berly Kim-berly Gracie, Megan Venuti, Col-lette Col-lette Griffin, Shayleen Piquet, Rachel Flake and Jennifer Flake. Special thanks was expressed by the teams to their advisors, Deanna Moore and Carrie Woolsey for Escalante, Es-calante, Anette Hulet for the Bobettes, Bo-bettes, and Tracy Sawyer for the Brycettes. At the Beaver competition, special spe-cial thanks were also expressed to Beaver Principal Mel Osborne and to drill team advisors April Yardley (Beaver) and Kim Quarnberg, Kanab. Judges were Linda Bell, Nancy Day, Debbie Laing, Kara Lynn Farr, Mary Stoddard, and Kathy Squires. Tabulators were Carol Williams, Sandy Christensen, and Jan Barney. Thirteen teams took part in the Beaver competition. The Bobettes were state champions for the past two years. |
