Show Man Who 'Has To Paint' Captures Area's Beauty Wyoming artists Bob Barlow set up his easel along U.S. 89 Sunday afternoon just in time to catch the late afternoon rays of sunlight on the entrance to Red Canyon. Working quickly to catch the highlights before the sun disappeared disap-peared behind the mountain, Barlow muted his orange just a little as he worked briskly to capture the contrasts con-trasts of color onto his canvas. Like many artists who came to the area, Barlow was entranced with the challenge of the area's pinks, and lavenders and oranges. A man who paints because he "has to," Barlow has traveled the world over. His trip to the area was shortened because of a death in his family which required a sudden return re-turn to Wyoming. "But I'll be back," he said. Like the others who come, and come again to paint the wonders of Bryce Canyon country, Barlow will surely be back. Perhaps he will join the small community of artists in Boulder, a place he acknowledged he has yet to visit. |
