The students took both a written and practical exam npt and will receive results of these tests within the next three to four stA weeks. 0111 Park Ranger Ken Kerr is attending attend-ing a fire management training gos course this week in Rapid City, .to S.D. si Bill Miles, Concessions Specialist, and his wife Kay and their son Marc traveled to Denver, Colo., over the weekend of Feb. 25 to visit friends. Bill will attend a concessions trade show during the beginning of the week that relates to his job with the National Park Service at Bryce Canyon National Park. Katie Roberts, daughter of Jack -and Jacque Roberts, won third place in the third grade in the Farm Bureau Bu-reau State Essay Contest "Why My Vote Counts." Boy Scouts Marc Miles and Abe Davis participated in the Boy Scouts Blue and Gold Dinner on Wednesday evening Feb. 22 in Tropic. The Bryce Valley Girl Scout Brownie Troop met Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the home of Kathy Lee. The girls worked on completing their Play-Try-It badge by playing international inter-national games. The troop is starting start-ing requirements to earn their Outdoor Out-door Fun and Numbers and Shapes-Try-It badges. The Bryce Valley Junior Girl Scout Troop met at Bryce Valley School Wednesday, Feb. 22, to learn how to make friendship bracelets and to discuss cookie sales and upcoming initiation initia-tion ceremony plans. Emergency Medical Technician Training held at Ruby's Inn is almost al-most completed. Students at Friday evening's class took an overall test of the course and then participated in rending emergency aid to "victims" of a simulated earthquake. The EMT class will meet at Ruby's Inn for the last time on Thursday, March 2, for a course review. The state test for EMT certification will be administered at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City on Saturday, March 4. Ray Manley, maintenance worker at Bryce Canyon National Park, spotted the first prairie dog of 1989 last Friday afternoon.
