Show - Panguitch Patter - Mamie Talbot During these lovely summer days, it's hard to stay inside to write columns or do anything else. It's much more fun to move the hoses to water the dry sports and then to sit on the shady porch and watch the goings and comings up and down the streets. There's nothing more interesting than watching other people work. Work is progressing on Jim Henrie's big garage and on the houses under the Lake hill. The sound of the crop dusting plane is heard each morning at dawn as the farmers fight to control the pests. Alfred Dodson has moved out of the Norton home and into his own trailer at the Wagon Wheel trailer park. Newlyweds Mark and Shelia Orton are in their lovely new home. Work is going on to get the Amy Sevy home the way the new owners the Mack Oettings want. Mrs. Oetting is the former Pat Frandsen, daughter of Larry Frand-sen. Frand-sen. She has a professorship and teaches nutrition at Fullerton College Col-lege in California. Mack is with the fire department there. Upon retirement retire-ment they will move into the newly refurbished historical home. The Larry Frandsens recently attended at-tended the wedding of granddaughter Cory Hatch in Richfield. She is the daughter of the Jon Hatches of Richfield and Elsie Hatch of Panguitch. Pan-guitch. The Frandsens and several of their kids have bought some of the old cabins at Bryce and have moved them to their dad's homestead home-stead and old stomping grounds at Widtsoe. Stan Butts, Vergil Lundy and Adele (Iverson) Lundy, the Jon Hatches and several other family members have been home to spend time witn tneir tolks and enjoy working on their summer retreat Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dickenson and Caitlyn Dickenson are now visiting with Maud Dickenson and awaiting the imminent arrival of relatives, the John Dickensons and cousins Joshua Dickenson and J ana Dickenson, who will spend several weeks. Ninety-five senior citizens enjoyed en-joyed a cookout at Pine Lake recently. re-cently. Food tastes much better eaten among the trees and wildlife. Mary Ellen Delong graduated from Southern Utah State College at Cedar City with a degree in physiology. She hopes to work as a physical therapist. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill De-long De-long of Panguitch. Lucille Farnsworth and Ann Farnsworth went to Richland, Wash., to see Lucille's son Richard Farnsworth receive a masters degree in chemical engineering. Lucille's daughter Camille Churchill and family came to the graduation and visited with her mom and Aunt Ann. Cy Crofts of Price has been here to spend some time at his cabin at Panguitch Lake. Richard Crofts drove him back home. The Steele Henries and daughters Pam Jacoboson, Marilyn Woolsey and Mary Ann Crofts are home after attending the Slater family reunion near Ogden. While there they got word of the birth of a baby girl to the Tracy Henries of Cedar City. Tracy now has two boys and two girls. Norma Talbot, Merle Prince, Pauline Prince and Frank Prince went to St. George to the Hayden Wells Church family reunion. The big group attended the temple as a family and enjoyed dinner and a program afterwards. Jeff Owens and son Shea Owens were home from Provo to get their home ready to rent. Former occupants occu-pants the Bart Browns left when school was out for work elsewhere. Panguitch people are invited to attend a program at the Hatch LDS Ward chapel on Thursday, June 23, at 7:30 p.m. A youth group from Orem will present the program for entertainment. The Antimony LDS chapel completion program will be held there on Saturday, June 25, in the evening. It will be followed by a dance and a program by The Top Hat entertainers. Everyone is invited. in-vited. Terrie Jacobson, Brian Jacobson, Lindsey Jacobson and Melanie Jacobson Ja-cobson visited with Terrie's folks the Kay Heywoods. Annette Hey-wood Hey-wood is now living and working in Panguitch. Doug Keck of Idaho stopped his big truck and visited his grandparents, grandpar-ents, the Al Hatches for awhile. Maxine Crosby went to Cedar City to the funeral of Jay Shakespeare. Shake-speare. Folks here will be saddened to learn of the death of the mother of Sally Pane in Dixie. Hilma Ex-cell Ex-cell went north for the funeral of the son of Marie Veater Mortenson. The Phil Dickensons and Miles Barneys went to Las Vegas to a big square dance jamboree. The Guillette family have moved into the Forest Service house where the Clair Baldwins lived. Carl Guillette is the new Dixie National Forest ranger here. The Chad Limbs visited the Verle Matthews. Mrs. Limb is the former Lynea Matthews. Karen Ross, Judy Henrie and Margaret Clark are the new Third LDS Ward Primary presidency. Keith Henrie is home from Salt Lake City to recover from his heart problems. Here to attend the lovely garden wedding of the Mark Ortons were the sisters and families of Barbara Orton and Margaret Clark. They are Nina Ownby, Kathleen Fetzer, Janet Preece, Shirley Morrill, and their mother, Maurine Mugleston. The Richard Bowley family and the Artimitia Mitchell family were welcomed into membership of the Third Ward. Carla Owens was called to work in the Cub Scouts and Cindy Johnson in the Primary. Mamie Talbot had a surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lloyd of Denver. Larry's father Harold Lloyd was raised by the Al-lie Al-lie Nortons, Mamie's parents. Special Father's Day programs were presented in the three LDS wards, with musical numbers and talks on fathers and their responsibilities. |
