Show Radios Not Practical, Says Road Supervisor At a recent commission meeting, meet-ing, Garfield County Road Supervisor Ron Greenhalgh advised the commissioners that it would be impractical to put two-way radios in the county's cats and graders because be-cause of the type of service they perform and security problems. He responded to a question from one of the commissioners about the possibility of radios. Greenhalgh said that there are radios in the county's trucks in Boulder, Es-calante, Es-calante, and Tropic. Greenhalgh stated that some businessmen are requesting larger dumpsters but no action was taken on this item. He was asked to put a dumpster on the top of the fish hatchery road. Michael Allphin, State District Court administrator, appeared before be-fore the commissioners to clarify some of the grey areas in the state's plan for a takeover of the district court system. All three county commissioners voted to allow the county to participate in the takeover. The local construction firm of Dodds and Talbot was the only bidder and the successful bidder to redo the sidewalk in front of the county court house. The firm's bid was $3,180. Kit Brouse, Bullfrog, submitted a proposal to push the trash down and cover it at the Ticaboo landfill. He was told that this job was taken care of by the GarfieldKane Counties Coun-ties Deputy Sheriff stationed at Ticaboo for $60 per month. An indigent abatement was awarded to Rulon Barrett, Spry. ClerkAuditor Hazel Houston gave a report on the May tax sale. The commission accepted a bid by Bob Marsh to purchase Hercules parcel 342 (lot 42 Block 10). Business licenses were issued to the Garfield Memorial Hospital, Deer Trail Lodge, T's Tilted Toppers, Top-pers, Western Trails, and G.V.I. Services. The license fee for Garfield Memorial Hospital was waived and the Deer Trail Lodge was issued a beer license. The commissioners voted to donate $100 to each of the Es-!S, Es-!S, Bryce Valley and Escalante Little League Associations. |
