There is one older dorm and the new ones BOULDER A late afternoon fire consumed a 20-foot motorhome on the Boulder Mountain Road Tuesday, but the two owners escaped es-caped without injury. The fire was reported to Kim Lyman at Kim's Hiltop Service by Donald Woolsey, Bicknell. It was also reported to Larry Davis, superintendent at Anasazi Indian were designed to blend with them and keep the historic integrity of the buildings. Tourist season is beginning to get "hot" in Garfield area. Fire Destroys Motor Home Village Museum and to LeFair Hall at Hall's Store where the couple had stopped earlier. The motorhome operator, a resident of Denver, whose name was not available, told investigating investigat-ing officer Utah Highway Patrolman Patrol-man Don Torgerson that he noticed smoke in his rear view mirror about seven miles north of Boulder on Utah Highway 12 near Middle Deer Creek. He sent his wife to the rear of the vehicle to check and she came back choking from smoke. He immediately pulled the motorhome mo-torhome off the road, grabbed his wallet from the dashboard, and both jumped out just as the vehicle became be-came fully enveloped in flames. He told the investigating officer that he and his wife had purchased the motorhome in Oregon last year and they had wintered in Arizona. He said they had been on their way to meet a son on his way from Denver to Hanksville for a joint trip to Lake Powell. They discovered discov-ered after the fire that their son, however, had not left Denver because be-cause of family medical problems. A field representative for Phillips Oil, passing through, provided pro-vided the couple with transportation to Green River where they planned to take a bus to Denver. Both Davis and Lyman, who took the Boulder fire truck to the scene, said that little remained of the motorhome after the intense heat of the fire except melted bits of metal and ashes. Pine needles, brush and trees which caught fire at the scene were quickly extinguished and only a small area burned, they reported. |
