Show - Tropic Topics - Ella Adair Tropic residents will be interested in knowing that Carolyn Ferrln, a former Tropic resident, was the second prize winner in the LDS Church Relief Society Hymn Contest for 1984. Carolyn and her husband lived in Tropic while he was the seminary teacher and are now living in Washington where as an accomplished violinist, she is active in community music activities. Geraldine Moon had her three children and families home for her missionary testimonial and dinner: Mr. and Mrs. Scott Moon and Mr, and Mrs. Charles Moon, Kearns; and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Evans, West Jordan. She will enter the Missionary Training Center on July 31, prior to serving an LDS mission in the Pennsylvania Pittsburg Mission. Viva Mecham, Malen Mecham, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Pollock, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Pollock, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Mecham and Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Mecham attended the Hatch family reunion at Kings Creek campground. Lowell Mecham and Carol Stewart are enrolled in classes at the Southern Utah State College this summer. The John H. Johnson family held their annual family reuion at Kings Creek campground. Family members coming to Tropic for the missionary testimonial for Mr. and Mrs. Afton (Del Rae) Pollock, included: Mr. and Mrs. Del Campbell, St. George; Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Campbell, Woodland, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Bybee Campbell, St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Campbell, Hurricane; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Campbell, Death Valley, Calif; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stratton, Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Whittiker, St. George and many friends from Loa. MonDell Syrett took a van load of teenagers to Salt Lake City. Margaret Mecham and Florence Syrett had a luncheon honoring DelRae Pollock at the Meacham home. Ladies living in their Relief Society district were also geusts. |
